          Matthew 5:48

“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

 

1 John 4:18

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

 

 

Objective:  We will study the word “perfect” and its meaning in the passages above.  Questions to ponder while studying:

 

·        Does the word perfect mean “without error” in these passages?

·        How can we be “perfect” like God is in Matthew 5:48?

·        What is the actual meaning of “perfect” in these scriptures?

 

Instructions:

1.     Choose your word.

2.     Find its English definition.

3.     Compare translations.

4.     Write down the definition of the original word.

5.     Check the Word’s occurrence in the Bible.

6.     Find the Root Meaning and Origin of the Word.

7.     Discover the Word’s usage in the Bible.

8.     Write out an application.

 

Notes:  You will need a bible dictionary, concordance, and a thesaurus for this month’s activity.  Have fun as you discover the word of God!
